The Heretic Knives Manticore X OTF knife – I’m liking it. I don’t use a lot of OTF knives but this one and my Benchmade Pagan are 2 that I like bit. This knife is made of S35VN steel, deploys with a nice snap, and all of the Heretic Knives are made in the U.S.A. Check it out!

In my case, work rules cause knives with 3″ blades to be classified as weapons rather than tools, so not for me.
I have a Benchmade infidel and got it for self defense carry. Because there is a almost built in safety, I decided to go with a different one. In a self defense role I need it to be there so it’s a no go. I see otf knives and fun EDC and not very practical for much else.
Suggestions for review might be a failure test. Stabbing a stump or something to really test lockup although I’d hate to abuse a beautiful blade so I really don’t know.
I’d say for most folks OTF type knifes are probably toys, curiosity, just fun. I could see LE or Military using as a secondary get off me type knife to defend their primary weapon. Here in Fl. we can have them, carry them, etc., if you have a CCW.
Love otf knives only own one a microtech because it’s illegal where I live for absolutely no good reason thanks GOV for being a pain in my supposedly free ass.
In my experience the problem with otf knives is that the spring can become underpowered to the point it won’t fully deploy
I think they look cool and would be fun to use, it is not legal for me to carry auto/OTF knives in my state. It’s stupid, but it’s something that I would rather follow the law and hope that we are able to get legislature changed. Cool blade though!
I’ve got a heretic Cleric, well made, solid knife. Comparable to a Microtech (not surprising since it’s run by the Son of MT’s owner)
