Does this cause autism? Because if it does, i don’t want it
The greatest issue I see with dependence on the UV approach in camping-type gear is siltation and the bulb-life. Most power sources in my experience have not been of issue… it’s the bulbs and uncertain timeline penetrating cloudy (shady) water.
This does not mean I would not use this… but I’d make longer term certain tests of its limitations before handing it off to my clients on river expeditions.
I wish people would stop whining. This is a great option if you know your area and you have generally clear water sources. From moving streams etc. It fills a niche.
Hell no! I’ll stick to ClO2 and filters.
“Hey my little mongster prepper, I gots a job for you!”
“Ya pappy prepper?”
“Take this, and crank it for a few minutes.”
“Seriously dad?!”
“Seriously!”
Pretty neat Idea.but what is the frequency used in the UV? It must be 260-270 nm range to be effective.. UV goes up to 400 nm.
