The new Smith and Wesson SWOTF9B OTF knife is an assisted-opening knife for people who like the out the front knife concept but can’t have an out the front auto, for whatever reason. It has pros and cons but it is a cool knife and fun to use.

  1. This was a very funny video Bryan! I’m the same when I get new gadgets like this S&W OTF. One thing for sure it does throw well. Thanks ?

  2. Eh, not really digging this one. I guess all things considered this knife would be pretty limited legally speaking in a lot of places. So it kind of makes owning one a bit pointless. I see what they’re trying to do, but it’s more like a semi-automatic knife. So as some have said, it would still probably fall under an automatic knife.

    1. I would have to disagree. It is actually very well made and has a very solid action and lockup. It is not an automatic and, like I said, more cumbersome to use but it does what it is designed to do and does it pretty well. And it is a lot less than most OTF autos of a similar build quality. IMHO.

  3. We in Arizona can carry guns openly or concealed without any permit. Knives??? Here are the laws concerning knives in my free State of Arizona >:)

    What is Legal/Illegal in Arizona
    Pocket knives are legal.
    Balisong knives are legal.
Switchblades, gravity knives, Bowie knives, and stilettos are legal.
Knives of any length are legal.
It is legal for anyone over 21 to carry knives concealed.
It is illegal to not inform a police officer when they stop you that you are carrying a concealed knife when the knife is not a pocket knife.
It is illegal for someone under 21 years of age to carry a non-pocket knife concealed.
It is illegal to bring a knife into schools.

  4. I think law enforcement in some jurisdictions are not going to accept the subtle difference between automatic and assisted. Just saying.
