Agree that a positive, will-to-live attitude is definitely the #1 component
to survival. Since you asked for other lies/myths, here’s one of mine:
‘that’s not a real survival knife’ or ‘I wouldn’t trust my life with that
little knife’. “Knife’ being a surrogate for whatever piece of gear someone
might be comfortable with/can afford. By definition, a survival knife is
whatever knife you have with you in a survival situation. You may own or
aspire to someday buy a Fallkniven A1, but if you don’t have it with you
every time you go into the backcountry, it’s of no use to you when the need
arises. So if a Mora Companion or a Victorinox Spartan is all you can
afford/stand to carry around in your pack on casual hikes, then that’s the
best survival knife for you.
So much good in this reality slap to the face video. Found myself nodding
and saying “yup” through the whole thing. Great vid!
Nice video, I completely agree. One thing I’d add is that Bushcraft and
Survival are the same thing. Now I’ve never heard someone say that straight
up, but when reviewing something, they might say, “This would be a good
bushcraft or survival….” whatever. Bushcraft is going into the wild with
all the gear you’ll need, and making stuff out of the branches and stuff
around you. Survival is getting lost and keeping yourself alive. It’s just
something that kind of annoys me, because they’re completely different
things.
I don’t think you are as great as you think you are . Unsubscribed.
