The Vertx Commuter EDC Sling Bag came to me from SOFREP’s Premium Crate Club. This bag is a beast bag – I am really digging on this thing. The construction is excellent and it rides the way I like a sling bag to ride – sleek and up close against my back. SOFREP offers a variety of the monthly boxes as well as the quarterly Premium Crate Club – check out the video for more info.

  1. I have this bag and no longer use it. I do not recommend it. First, after carrying with contents the bag is losing its’ shape. This causes the zippers to catch on the corners. You can see that in the beginning of this vide. Second, there are stitches around the zipper that ate shredding in the same area. Third, there is no “pouch” or sleeve for the laptop. So if you put a Netbbok/iPad ore reader in this area it just doesn’t stay in place. Fourth, the organization “at to” stuff is just a way to make you buy more stuff. Mine is in gray and the “handles” are hard to find and when they do not work well when the bag is full they hard not functional. . Last , it is just over priced. My bag is currently in my garage gathering dust.

  2. Thanks for the info, i appreciate ur input.. I do like the look of this bag alot.. Im waiting for more of these companies to give the the option (like the Tatical Taylor Adapt) which gives the option to go sling with either side or even pull out an additional strap to convert to a 2 strap backpack with a adjustable sternum strap.. If this bag were that universal, it would be a homerun…Also, come July 1st check out the 5.11 dart pack, looks intetesting…Thanks again and keep up the good work.

  3. Hey bro, great vid as always..We both seem to prefer sling and messenger bags for EDC carry…What would be your go to bag that has CCW capabilities..Thanks for all the good info and keep doing ur thing..Be safe and God Bless.

    1. This is at the top of the list I’d say. The Pantac Slingshot is great too but they are hard to locate and the customer service is questionable. The Wolfspur from Maxpedition is also a nice option, as well as the Mobius from Vanquest.

  4. I may be wrong, but I think the first pocket you showed with the j-hooks its the beaver tail. The J-hooks that can be attached to the outside in the two small black loops against the back. You can put a helmet or something there. Nice review, like the bag!

    1. D Andersson ah – makes sense. I have yet to see anyone do that. I looked all over – even the Vertx site didn’t show that feature. But cool concept and thanks for sharing.
