When is a child old enough to have a knife and what is a good kid knife? That’s a question I get asked a lot. Obviously, that depends on the kid but Morakniv has a couple of great options for a kid’s 1st knife.

Age is up to parents. Excellent video.
Very helpful! Thanks for the video.
Hey Brian, what’s that Egyptian fire starter you keep mentioning? Pharaoh rod? (Ha! I’m from the South too. )
Your picks are great. One has to love the Moras.
My answer is usually 5 to 6 years old and anything from Victornox is good. That said I’ve seen safe 6 year olds and in scouts I’ve run into boys that were 14 that I wouldn’t trust to butter their own toast. Lol
I think the “My First Victorinox” SAK would be a good one. A blunt to knife with a couple extras
Couldn’t agree more with the choices, Bryan ! Close supervision a Must ! ATB T God Bless
Thanks Terry
Great Knife review Brian! I was looking for a safer starter fixed blade for my oldest grandson. This was very helpful in making a decision on purchasing one! (Once his parents let me give it to him! LOL)
I’m glad it helped.
